CASPER, Wyo. — Four Casper College Thunderbirds basketball players have received recognition for their performances throughout the 2018-2019 season, according to an April 15 Casper College news release.
“’I am very excited for all these guys because they have worked extremely hard and bought into the program and helped us win a Region IX championship, the first since 1996, as well as a national tournament appearance,'” the release quotes T-Birds Head Coach Dan Russell.
“‘We had an unbelievable team this year, and a lot of the credit goes to these four guys and the chemistry and trust that they have amongst each other.'”

Sophomore guard Isaac Bonton was named as the Region IX Co-Player of the Year. The release adds that Bonton was also named to the Region IX All-Tournament Team and First Team All-Region and the National Junior College Athletic Association recognized him as a Second-Team All-American.
Bonton averaged 21.4 point per game for the Thunderbirds during the season, according to the college.
Sophomore forward Wilfried Likayi and sophomore Amin Adamu were also named to the Region IX All-Tournament Team and were named to the Second Team All-Region. Likayi averaged 16.8 points per game and Adamu averaged 15.1 points per game, the release adds.
Bonton and Likayi are both from Portland, Oregon while Adamu is from London, England.
Sophomore guard Broc Finstuen was named to the Third Team All-Region, according to CC’s release. He averaged 13.0 points per game.
Finstuen comes from Pine Island, Minnesota.
