Winter today, 70 degrees on Saturday

Winter may be ready for hibernation by this weekend.

According to the National Weather Service in Riverton, central and western Wyoming have been under a winter weather advisory since yesterday. It’s scheduled to expire at noon today.

Snow fell overnight in Casper and north of us in Gillette and Sheridan. Temperatures dipped to the low 30s.

Snow and rain will continue through Thursday, with sun and wind on Friday and sun and upper 60s predicted by Saturday.

Sunday’s forecast calls for sunny weather and a high near 70.

WYDOT has roads round Casper ranging from wet with snowfall to slick with snowfall this morning. Numerous black ice warnings are posted around Cheyenne.

Today’s high will be in the low 40s.
