Gusts over 70 mph expected along I-25 today

CASPER, Wyo. – Subfreezing temperatures are giving way to gusty winds today through tomorrow.

According to the National Weather Service in Cheyenne, wind gusts over 70 mph are likely in the Laramie Valley, central Laramie County and east Platte County through Wednesday.

Travel along I-80 and I-25 across southeast Wyoming, particularly around Chugwater and Wheatland, will be made difficult with gusts over 60 mph according to the NWS. Light vehicles, empty semis and vehicles towing camper trailers will find travel difficult.

In Casper, winds are expected to gust up to 31 mph, with high temperatures around 50 degrees. Some parts of Natrona County should expect gusts up to 50 mph. Winds are expected calm down on Wednesday afternoon.
