CASPER, Wyo. – The Wyoming Department of Transportation (WYDOT) has issued extreme blow over risk alerts on many highways in central Wyoming today.
According to WYDOT, as of 8:45 a.m. all of I-25 is closed to light and high profile vehicles. The high profile vehicle closure is also in effect on US 20, US 26, US 30, US 87, US 287, US 28, and on I-80 between Elk Mountain and Laramie.
The National Weather Service in Riverton is predicting gusts as high as 65 mph in parts of Fremont and Natrona County.

The NWS says gusts of 65 mph have been recorded at Outer Drive this morning, and a 53 mph gust was recorded at the Natrona County International Airport.
The worst winds are expected this morning through around 2 p.m. today, said the NWS.
On social media this morning WYDOT posted that travel is “discouraged along portions of Highway 20, 26 between Shoshoni & #Casper. Strong winds with blowing and drifting snow.”
