CASPER, Wyo — The National Weather Service in Riverton is predicting showers and thunderstorms Sunday and Monday for central and western Wyoming. Showers are expected to spread over the central basins after sunrise, and thunderstorms will be widespread across the area by the afternoon.
Strong to severe thunderstorms, with hail and damaging winds, are possible over Johnson County and portions of the Bighorns in the afternoon and evening.
Casper sees a 60% chance of precipitation on Sunday. Isolated showers are possible before 3:00 pm, and then a chance of thunderstorms, especially between 3:00 pm and 5:00 pm. Some of the storms could produce heavy rain. A high near 85 is expected, with southwest winds 7 to 12 mph increasing to 20 to 25 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 36 mph.

Persistent rain over the northwest could lead to localized flooding. Showers and thunderstorms will remain widespread across the area Monday.
