NWS: Mostly sunny and clear in Wyoming, storms possible off Laramie Range

CASPER, Wyo — The National Weather Service is predicting highs near 90 and mostly sunny skies across Wyoming on Saturday. Temperatures will cool slightly on Sunday with highs in the upper 80s. Casper sees a 20% chance of precipitation, with isolated thunderstorms and strong wind gusts possible between 4:00 and 5:00 pm. 

Elsewhere isolated showers and thunderstorms are possible over central and eastern portions of the state.

Thunderstorms are expected to form in the Laramie Range this afternoon and track into the NebraskaPanhandle through late afternoon. Some of these storms could become severe with large hail and damaging downburst winds. Storms are expected to move into central Nebraska by early evening.

A Red Flag warning is effect until 8:00 today in Carbon county west of the Laramie Range. Elevated fire danger is expected across much of the state into next week.
