“Models seem to hint at a brief period of rain/snow mix in the western mountains before transitioning to all snow as mid-level temperatures drop below freezing. Mid-level temperatures look to range between -3 to -7C which will also bring down the snow level in the mountains to roughly 5,000 to 7,000 feet.”

Snowfall is expected to reach 3-5 inches in the western mountains, particularly at higher elevations.

In a special weather statement, the NWS in Riverton said that temperatures “will be 20 to 30 degrees colder Sunday, compared to Saturday`s near record highs.”
