CASPER, Wyo — The two National Weather Service offices, Cheyenne and Riverton, have both released data on peak wind gusts recently recorded across the state.
Many wind advisories are in effect through Tuesday afternoon, and multiple road closures are in effect.
In the southeast, a 102 mph gust was recorded at the Natural Fort weather station (elevation 6,736′), while gusts on the Interstate 80 mountain passes reached 86 mph since Sunday afternoon.

Gusts reached 68 mph on Outer Drive in Casper Monday morning, and Cody wa rocked by an 84-mph gust. There could be a “brief lull” Monday night in Natrona County, NWS said, “but wind speeds will only be slightly lower than [advisory] criteria.”
In Riverton, an auto body shop’s roof was blown off Monday morning.
