CASPER, Wyo. — The Wyoming Department of Transportation said at around 10:45 am Tuesday, Feb. 23 that crews were working to clear a crash on I-80 near Strouss Hill at mile marker 283.
WYDOT said drivers should be aware that the right lane could be blocked.
With wind gusts reaching as high as 81 mph on I-80 near Cooper Cove, WYDOT said there have been “lots of close call blow-overs/trailers tipping.”

Cooper Cove has been seeing sustained winds near 50 mph.
“Don’t risk it – pull aside, save your ride,” WYDOT said.
I-80 is closed to light, high profile vehicles from Cheyenne to Elk Mountain due to gusting winds. I-25 is closed to light, high profile vehicles from Casper to Wheatland.
