CASPER, Wyo. — There is some snow expected in western Wyoming mountains through Saturday, but the first snow at lower elevations in the Cowboy State is expected early next week.

Rain and snow is likely in Casper starting Monday night and through Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service in Riverton. In Cheyenne, rain and snow are likely starting on Tuesday night.

There is a 20% chance that the snow will be heavy across much of Wyoming next Tuesday and Wednesday, according to the NWS in Riverton.

In addition to the snow, a cold snap is expected to impact the region.

“If you haven’t already, [you] might want to look into winterizing your sprinkler systems,” the NWS in Cheyenne said.
