Snow and 55-mph wind gusts expected in Wyoming Tuesday; 40% chance of rain and snow in Casper Wednesday

CASPER, Wyo. — Snow and rain is expected to increase across western Wyoming on Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service in Riverton. Yellowstone National Park has the best chance to see accumulating snow on Tuesday night.

Strong winds at 35-40 mph out of the southwest are expected in areas east of the Continental Divide from noon to 11 p.m. Tuesday. Gusts as high as 55 mph are possible.

“Sudden and strong wind gusts could result in control issues for lightweight and high-profile vehicles,” the NWS in Riverton states. “Please exercise caution when traveling.”

The Casper area has a 30% chance of rain on Tuesday night. There will then be a 40% chance of rain and snow on Wednesday. Any showers are likely to happen before 1 p.m. Wednesday, according to the NWS in Riverton.

There is a 30% chance of rain and snow on Casper Mountain on both Tuesday night and Wednesday.

Rain could return again to the Casper area later in the week, with a 30% chance of rain on Saturday both in town and on the mountain, according to the NWS in Riverton.
