Casper may see snow and 70+ mph winds after high near 65 degrees Monday

CASPER, Wyo. — The Casper area is expected to be mostly sunny with a high near 65 degrees on Monday, according to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Riverton.

While winds during the day could reach gusts near 39 mph, stronger winds are expected to pick up on Monday night. A high wind warning will take effect at 11 p.m. with 70+ mph gusts possible along Outer Drive in the Casper area, according to the NWS in Riverton. The high wind warning will remain in effect until 2 p.m. Tuesday.

Snow is expected in western Wyoming mountains and far western valleys on Tuesday morning. In the Casper area, Tuesday is expected to be mostly sunny during the day with a high near 55 degrees, but there is a chance of snow returning on Tuesday night.

There is a 20% chance of snow on both Casper Mountain and in town on Tuesday night, according to the NWS in Riverton.

Wednesday is expected to be the coldest day of the week with a high forecast near 35 degrees. Thursday is expected to climb to a high near 48 degrees with a high near 55 degrees expected on Friday.

Saturday has a high forecast near 49 degrees and there will then be a slight chance of snow on Saturday night in the Casper area, according to the NWS in Riverton. Sunday’s high is forecast at near 43 degrees. There is a 20% chance of snow on Casper Mountain on Sunday.
