I-80 Arlington East (WYDOT)

CASPER, Wyo. — Travel on Interstate 80 will be impacted by west winds of 30 to 40 mph with gusts up to 60 mph Sunday, according to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Cheyenne.

The high wind warning will be in effect from 11 a.m. Sunday to 11 a.m. MST Monday. Impacted areas will include the north Snowy Range foothills and I-80 between Arlington and Elk Mountain.

Strong cross winds will be hazardous to lightweight and high-profile vehicles, including campers and tractor trailers, the NWS said.

“There will be a high risk for vehicle blow overs, particularly along north-to-south–oriented roadways.”
