CASPER, Wyo. — Wyoming Highway 258, also known as Outer Drive, is closed to light, high-profile vehicles in the Casper area between Mills and Evansville as of 10:45 a.m. Tuesday, according to the Wyoming Department of Transportation (WYDOT).
Outer Drive is seeing wind gusts in excess of 55 mph on Tuesday morning, according to WYDOT sensors.
There is a high wind warning in effect in Natrona County through 3 p.m. Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Riverton. Gusts up to 60 mph are expected.
Gusts up to 70 mph are expected in the Absaroka Mountains and eastern Wind River Mountains. In the Green Mountains and the Rattlesnake Range, gusts could reach 60 mph.
I-80 is closed to light, high-profile vehicles from Laramie to Elk Mountain on Tuesday morning, according to WYDOT.
Wind gusts up to 70 mph are expected in the central Laramie Range and in southwest Platte County until 5 p.m. Tuesday, according to the NWS in Cheyenne. Gusts up to 65 mph are expected in the Snowy Range Foothills during the same time frame.
