CASPER, Wyo. — High winds have led the Wyoming Department of Transportation (WYDOT) to close highways in southeast Wyoming, including portions of Interstate 80, to light, high-profile vehicles.

Both I-80 and US 30/287 between Laramie and Walcott Junction have been closed to vehicles at risk of blow over since Sunday morning.

A high wind warning is in effect for the area, with gusts of 60 mph expected, through 6:00 p.m. Sunday. Interstate 25 between Chugwater and Wheatland will also be under a high wind watch from 6:00 p.m. Sunday to 9:00 a.m. Monday.
