SE Wyoming highways closed to light, high-profile traffic; high wind warning in effect through Wednesday morning

CASPER, Wyo. — High winds have led the Wyoming Department of Transportation (WYDOT) to close highways, including portions of Interstate 80, in southeast Wyoming to light, high-profile vehicles Tuesday afternoon.

Both I-80 and US 30/287 between Laramie and Walcott Junction have been closed to vehicles at risk of blowover since Sunday morning.

A high wind warning is in effect for the area until 11 a.m. Wednesday, with sustained winds of 30 to 40 mph and gusts up to 65 mph expected.
