Outer Drive, I-25 from Cheyenne to Wheatland added to partial road closures due to high winds

CASPER, Wyo. — Interstate 25 from Cheyenne to Wheatland and Outer Drive in Casper are closed to light, high-profile vehicles due to blow over risk from high winds Saturday.

Wyoming Highway 28 between Farson and US 287 also closed at 11:28 a.m., the Wyoming Department of Transportation said.

Isolated higher gusts up to 70 mph will be possible along Outer Drive/Wyoming Boulevard on the south side of Casper, with a high wind warning in effect between 3 p.m. Saturday to 6:00 a.m. Sunday.

Wind gusts at 65 to 80 mph will be “likely to possible” in southeast Wyoming Saturday morning through Sunday morning, especially along the I-80 corridor between Arlington and Elk Mountain. The peak windy period is expected between 5:00 p.m. Saturday to 9:00 a.m. Sunday morning, the NWS said.
