I-25 Deer Creek (WYDOT)

CASPER, Wyo. — “No unnecessary travel” advisories are in effect on multiple roadways in the Casper area on Friday morning as snow continues to fall in the Oil City.

Casper Mountain Road (Wyoming Highway 251) is open but the Wyoming Department of Transportation has issued a “no unnecessary travel” advisory that remains in effect as of 8:40 a.m. Friday. Outer Driver (Wyoming Highway 258) also has a “no unnecessary travel” advisory in effect from Mills to Evansville.

Snowy Interstate 25 has “no unnecessary travel” advisories from Midwest to Chugwater. Unlike I-80, I-25 is open across the state. I-80 is closed in both directions from Laramie to Rawlins. Rolling closures are impacting stretches of I-80 from Cheyenne to Evanston.

Multiple other highways across the state are facing closures or travel advisories, according to WYDOT. Road condition information is available from WYDOT at https://wyoroad.info/highway/conditions/RoadClosures.html.
