CASPER Wyo. — Closures on hundreds of miles Interstate 80 due to winter conditions may end sooner than earlier estimated, the Wyoming Department of Transportation (WYDOT) said.

As of 5:30 p.m., WYDOT estimated that the reopening time across all closures to be between 5 and 7 hours — between 10:30 p.m. Friday and 12:30 a.m. Saturday.

I-80 remains closed in both directions from Laramie to Rawlins as of 8:55 a.m. Friday, according to WYDOT. Westbound travel from Cheyenne to Laramie is also closed due to a rolling closure, though eastbound travel is open.

Eastbound travel is largely closed from Evanston to Rawlins due to rolling closures, though some local travel is allowed around communities along I-80.

I-25 is open across Wyoming but “no unnecessary travel” advisories are in effect from Chugwater to Midwest, according to WYDOT.

WY 59 between Douglas and Edwards Road south of Wright is closed due a crash, estimated to re-open between 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.
