High wind advisory extended for Natrona County, other areas, through Wednesday morning

CASPER, Wyo. — Keep hanging on to your hats.

High wind advisories across western and central Wyoming have been extended, including until 8:00 a.m. Wednesday in Natrona County, according to the National Weather Service.

Southwest winds at 35 to 45 mph with gusts up to 70 mph are expected in the county, with even stronger gusts possible on Outer Drive, where an 88-mph gust was logged on Sunday.

The Green River and Rattlesnake ranges will also be affected, as well as much of Sweetwater County, including the I-80 corridor.

Southwest winds at 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 70 mph are expected in the east Wind River Mountains, including Red Canyon to South Pass, where 6-12 inches of snow are also expected from Tuesday morning to Wednesday at 11:00 a.m.
