High wind warnings impacting parts of Interstate 80 on Tuesday evening through Wednesday morning

CHEYENNE, Wyo. — High winds will once again batter southeastern Wyoming as the National Weather Service (NWS) in Cheyenne has issued a high wind warning from 5 p.m. Tuesday to 11 a.m. Wednesday for parts of the region.

The South Laramie Range Foothills and North Snowy Range Foothills are under the warning with winds from 30 to 40 mph and gusts ranging from 65 to 75 mph. This includes stretches of Interstate 80 from mile marker 357 west of Cheyenne to 320 east of Laramie, then mile marker 290 southeast of Arlington to 240 between Elk Mountain and Rawlins.

Transportation in the impacted areas could be affected, particularly to light, high-profile vehicles such as campers and tractor trailers.
