Strong winds with gusts up to 60 mph possible on I-25, I-80 in SE Wyoming on Monday

CASPER, Wyo. — Southeast Wyoming is expected to see some strong winds on Monday that could impact travel on both Interstate 25 and I-80.

West winds of 25-35 mph with gusts up to 60 mph will be possible until around 5 p.m. Monday, according to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Cheyenne.

The strong winds are expected in the north Snowy Range Foothills, along I-80 between Laramie and Rawlins, in the central Laramie Range and on I-25 between Chugwater and Wheatland.

“Strong crosswinds will be hazardous to lightweight and high-profile vehicles, including campers and tractor trailers,” the NWS in Cheyenne states. “There will be a high risk for vehicle blowovers.”
