Parts of I-25 re-open to light, high-profile vehicles; high winds return to southeast Wyoming Sunday

CASPER, Wyo. — High winds have prompted the the Wyoming Department of Transportation (WYDOT) to close Interstate 25 between Cheyenne and Wheatland to light, high-profile vehicles Sunday. The closure took effect at 11:00 a.m.

A high wind warning will be in effect from 2:00 p.m. Sunday to 5:00 a.m. Monday, the National Weather Service (NWS) in Cheyenne stated. Areas of Interstate 80 between Arlington and Elk Mountain and Interstate 25 between Chugwater and Wheatland will be affected.

“Wind gusts [up] to 65 mph [are] expected,” the NWS said.
