Strong winds up to 60 mph possible in Casper Friday night; 20% chance of snow overnight Saturday

CASPER, Wyo. — Strong winds are expected in western and central Wyoming on Friday and Friday night from Muddy Gap through Natrona County, according to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Riverton.

Friday night is expected to bring 25-35 mph winds with gusts of 40-50 mph to Natrona County.

“Occasional gusts around 60 mph are possible on the south side of Casper,” the NWS in Riverton said. “This includes along Outer Drive over to Hat Six Road.”

“Be prepared for sudden wind gusts on area roads. Lightweight and high-profile vehicles will be at risk to blow over.”

The Casper area is expected to reach a high near 36 degrees on Friday, climbing to a high near 39 degrees on a mostly sunny Saturday. There is then a 20% chance of snow showers after 11 p.m. Saturday night, according to the NWS in Riverton.

Sunday is expected to be mostly sunny with a high near 37 degrees. Monday is expected to climb near 45 degrees. The NWS in Riverton forecasts a high near 44 degrees on Tuesday in Casper.

A slight chance of snow showers returns on Wednesday, when the high is expected to reach near 39 degrees. Thursday is expected to reach a high near 44 degrees.
