CASPER, Wyo. — After facing closures overnight Wednesday, Interstate 80 temporarily reopened to all traffic across Wyoming on Thursday morning. However, some new closures are again in effect as of 9:43 a.m., according to the Wyoming Department of Transportation (WYDOT).
Westbound travel on I-80 is closed from Cheyenne to Laramie, according to WYDOT. No estimated reopening time has been provided.
“Multiple crashes have been reported causing a major backup in traffic,” WYDOT District 1 said of the new I-80 closures.
Black ice advisories are in effect on I-80 near Cheyenne, Laramie, Granger and Lyman as well as on eastbound stretches between Laramie and Cheyenne. WYDOT has also issued black ice advisories on I-25 near Casper, Midwest and Cheyenne.
