Snow likely on Casper Mountain throughout the day Wednesday; windchills as low as -30 degrees overnight

CASPER, Wyo. — Casper Mountain is likely to see some snow throughout the day Wednesday with around an inch of new accumulation expected, according to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Riverton.

Windchills during the day could be as cold as -10 to -20 degrees, dropping further, between -20 and -30 degrees, overnight Wednesday. The NWS in Riverton forecasts a low temperature of -7 to -13 degrees on Casper Mountain overnight Wednesday. There is also a 30% chance of snow Wednesday night.

Thursday’s high is expected to reach between 7–13 degrees on the mountain with windchills between -18 and -28 degrees possible in the morning. Thursday night’s low could dip as low as -6 degrees, according to the NWS in Riverton.

Friday is expected to be less cold, with a high between 15–21 degrees on Casper Mountain. Cold windchills will still be possible with readings between -11 and -21 degrees possible in the early morning. The NWS in Riverton also forecasts breezy conditions on the mountain Friday with 15–20 mph southwest winds expected.

Saturday is expected to reach a high between 30 and 36 degrees on the mountain, falling to a low of 22–28 degrees overnight. The NWS in Riverton forecasts a high between 34–40 degrees on Casper Mountain Sunday. A 20% chance for snow showers returns on Sunday evening with an overnight low of 17–23 degrees expected.

Monday’s high is expected to be between 35 and 41 degrees, climbing to a high Tuesday between 41 and 47 degrees.
