CASPER, Wyo. — Cool to mild temperatures, strong winds, and scattered showers and storms are forecast this Mother’s Day weekend in western and central Wyoming, according to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Riverton.
Showers and thunderstorms are possible this afternoon from Sweetwater to Natrona County, mainly before 3 p.m. Windspeeds of 24–29 mph alongside 44 mph gusts are expected in Casper, with gusts up to 50 mph possible elsewhere in the Wind Corridor. Partly sunny skies with a high near 63 are expected in Casper.
Showers over the Wind Corridor will be off and on Saturday evening, with additional showers developing over western portions overnight, the NWS said. Snow accumulations will be limited to the western mountains.
Sunday should see a high of 61 with gusts up to 41 mph in Casper, with a 30% chance of showers and thunderstorms after 3 p.m. Rain and snow showers are likely overnight into Monday, though little or no accumulation is expected.
