Casper high to climb near 76 degrees by Wednesday; 70% chance of rain Thursday

CASPER, Wyo. — The Casper area is expected to be relatively cool on Monday with a high near 50 degrees, but should warm up Tuesday and Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Riverton.

Strong winds are likely in the early part of the week, with gusts up to 50 mph possible on Monday and up to 47 mph on Tuesday. Tuesday’s high is forecast near 68 degrees before Casper’s high climbs near 76 degrees on Wednesday, the NWS in Riverton predicts. Wednesday is expected to be less windy, with gusts up to 26 mph possible.

A chance of rain and thunderstorms returns overnight Wednesday with a 50% chance of precipitation, the NWS in Riverton forecasts. There is then a 70% chance of showers on Thursday, with thunderstorms possible in the afternoon. Winds are expected to pick back up on Thursday, with gusts up to 45 mph possible. Thursday’s high is forecast at near 62 degrees.

The chance of rain decreases to 30% overnight Thursday. Friday is expected to see a high near 64 degrees with windy conditions likely.

Moving into the weekend, the Casper area can expect a high near 65 degrees on Saturday and a high near 71 degrees Sunday, according to the NWS in Riverton.
