Lightning, strong winds possible in Wyoming storms Tuesday; more monsoonal storms possible Friday-Sunday

CASPER, Wyo. — Mountains in western and central Wyoming cold see some isolated thunderstorms on Tuesday afternoon and evening with lightning and wind gusts up to 40 mph possible, according to the National Weather Service in Riverton.

Monsoonal storms could return to western Wyoming from Friday-Sunday with numerous thunderstorms possible in the afternoon and evening hours, the NWS in Riverton forecasts.

Casper is expected to reach a high near 85 degrees on Tuesday, which is primary election day. Polls are open until 7 p.m. Tuesday.

A high near 88 degrees is expected in Casper on Wednesday followed by a high near 85 degrees on Thursday, the NWS in Riverton forecasts. The high on Friday is expected to reach near 80 degrees.

Casper can expect a high near 84 degrees on Saturday and there is a 20% chance for showers after 1 p.m., according to the NWS in Riverton. There is also a 20% chance of showers and thunderstorms on Saturday night.

On Sunday, the high is expected to reach near 85 degrees with a chance for showers and thunderstorms in Casper. Monday’s high is expected to reach near 86 degrees with a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms in Casper.
