Strong winds, chance for rain in Casper ahead of sunny first weekend of fall

CASPER, Wyo. — Thursday marks the official start of fall.

Casper could see some showers and thunderstorms between noon and 4 p.m. Thursday with a 20% chance of rain, according to the National Weather Service in Riverton. Casper Mountain has a 30% chance for rain on Thursday.

Wind gusts as high as 37 mph are possible in Casper on Thursday, with gusts up to 40 mph possible on the mountain. Wind gusts could reach up to 45 mph on Thursday night on Casper Mountain, the NWS in Riverton forecasts.

Casper is expected to be sunny on Friday with a high near 69 degrees. Wind gusts could reach near 36 mph in town, with gusts up to 50 mph possible on Casper Mountain in the morning.

A sunny weekend is expected in Casper, with a high near 73 degrees both Saturday and Sunday.

Monday’s high in Casper is forecast near 74 degrees, followed by a high near 77 degrees on Tuesday and a high near 79 degrees on Wednesday.
