CASPER, Wyo. — Numerous roads in Wyoming are closing on Friday morning as winter conditions move through the state.

According to the Wyoming Department of Transportation, as of 9 a.m., Interstate 80 is closed between Rawlins and Cheyenne.

U.S. 30 between Rawlins and Medicine Bow is closed, and is also partially closed between Laramie and Medicine Bow. U.S. 287 is closed between Laramie and Rawlins.

Chain laws are in effect on Interstate 80 in Evanston and Lyman.

A no unnecessary travel warning was issued for Casper Mountain Road on Friday morning as well.

The National Weather Service in Riverton says Casper should expect to see a few inches of snow this morning before skies clear after noon. Gusty winds and blowing snow are expected to make travel conditions difficult in areas, the NWS said.

EDITOR’S NOTE: An earlier version of this post said there was a no unnecessary travel warning for Outer Drive. The warning is for Casper Mountain Road.
