CASPER, Wyo. — The possibility of snow is on the horizon this weekend, according to the National Weather Service in Riverton.

Conditions on Friday are expected to be calm, with breezes around 5 mph and clearing skies as the day progresses. Blustery winds return on Saturday, with gusts of up to 38 mph by nighttime.

The NWS in Riverton is calling for a 50% chance of snow by Sunday, alongside wind gusts of up to 37 mph. Less than an inch of new snow is likely.

After a slight chance of snow on Monday, conditions are expected to remain mostly cloudy, with 13 mph winds.

High temperatures are predicted to be around 29 degrees today through Sunday, cooling by Monday to 25 degrees. Lows will dip to around 20 degrees through Sunday, with an overnight low of 8 degrees possible overnight Monday.

The NWS in Cheyenne said on Thursday that the outlook for the next several days calls for cooler than usual temperatures, with higher than normal chances of snow.
