Snow possible Tuesday night; more snow and colder temps likely over weekend in Casper area

CASPER, Wyo. — The week is shaping up to remain cold and snowy for the most part, according to the National Weather Service in Riverton.

Today is expected to be mostly sunny with a high around 29 degrees and blustery winds with gusts of up to 22 mph. Overnight snow is expected, with up to 2 inches of accumulation possible in some areas.

Wednesday will see some show showers, a high around 27 degrees and wind gusts of up to 21 mph. A slight chance of snow is possible overnight Wednesday, with blustery winds continuing.

Higher winds are expected on Thursday, with gusts of up to 45 mph and a high temperature near 30 degrees. Gusts near 50 mph are likely overnight.

Snow is likely to return by Friday, continuing intermittently through Monday. Temperatures over the weekend are expected to be significantly colder than normal, with a high around 8 degrees on Sunday and an overnight low of minus 2 degrees. Monday’s high is predicted to be near 12 degrees, the NWS in Riverton said.
