CASPER, Wyo. — Hundreds of miles along all three interstates in Wyoming are closed Thursday night due to winter conditions and crashes, according to the Wyoming Department of Transportation. The closures come ahead of a forecast weekend-long snow event across the state.

All major routes between Cheyenne and Rock Springs are closed, WYDOT said at 7:37 p.m.: “Blizzard conditions have caused ZERO visibility. Many stranded vehicles, crashes, and hazardous conditions have been reported. Our maintainers and WHP have been working hard.”

Estimated reopening times range from late Friday morning to Friday afternoon.

I-25 is closed southbound from Glendo to the Colorado state line and northbound from Cheyenne to Wheatland. A crash was reported at 8:48 p.m. between Whitaker and Chugwater. The estimated reopening time is after 4 p.m. Friday.

Black ice is advised along the entirety of the roadway.

As of 9:04 p.m., I-90 is closed from Sheridan to Buffalo, with the estimated reopening time unknown.
