CASPER, Wyo. — Strong winds are expected in Natrona County today and tonight as winter weather makes its way into the area.
According to the National Weather Service in Riverton, the Casper area will be under a high wind warning from noon today through 3 p.m. Wednesday.
Wind gusts of up to 70 mph are possible in some areas of Casper, including Outer Drive. The NWS in Riverton says the strongest gusts should be expected from Tuesday evening through mid-morning Wednesday.
Rain is likely before 9 p.m. Wednesday, turning to snow overnight with around an inch of accumulation possible. Thursday will be blustery with intermittent snow and accumulation of less than an inch.
Today’s high is expected to reach 52 degrees, and a high around 54 degrees is expected on Wednesday. Thursday’s high will be 29 degrees, dipping to a low of 15 overnight.
Friday and Saturday should be breezy and sunny with highs in the mid-30s.
