CASPER, Wyo. — A spring storm that dropped snow throughout much of Wyoming on Wednesday is causing trouble for commuters.
As of 5 a.m. on Thursday, Interstate 80 between Rawlins and Cheyenne is closed due to winter conditions.
I-25 between Cheyenne and Midwest has multiple warnings, according to the Wyoming Department of Transportation, including black ice between Cheyenne and Chugwater, northbound closures in the Douglas area, and no unnecessary travel warnings between Casper and Midwest.
Other road closures include US 30 between Rawlins and Cheyenne and US 287 between Laramie and Rawlins.
The National Weather Service in Riverton is calling for patchy, freezing fog early today before becoming mostly sunny and blustery later. A high of 44 alongside wind gusts as high as 30 mph is likely.
The NWS in Riverton says there’s a 50% chance of more snow from Friday night into Saturday, with possibly intermittent snow showers through the weekend.
