CASPER, Wyo. — Casper is in for a warm, windy and sunny Thursday that will be followed by a 60% chance for snow overnight.
The forecast high is 50 degrees with 14–19 mph winds from the southwest increasing to 21–26 mph later in the morning. Gusts could reach 40 mph, according to the National Weather Service in Riverton.
Precipitation chances pick up to 20% this afternoon and rise to 50% and then 60% overnight as the low falls to around 29 degrees. Breezy conditions continue with a west wind of 15–21 mph whose gusts could reach 31 mph. Less than a half-inch of new snowfall accumulation is expected, the forecast states.
Snow chances will persist into Friday at 40%, mostly before noon. The high will return to around 42 degrees and winds will continue from the west-northwest at 14–22 mph. Gusts could reach 33 mph. Up to an inch of new snowfall accumulation is possible if it snows, the forecast states.
Casper should see a warm, windy and sunny weekend with forecast highs of 50 on Saturday and 52 on Sunday. Overnight lows both nights will be in the 30s.
