CASPER, Wyo. — The National Weather Service in Riverton has issued a flood watch for much of the lower elevations of Natrona County, as well as Casper Mountain, through Saturday afternoon.

Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams and other low-lying and flood-prone locations, the NWS in Riverton reports. Locally heavy rainfall could produce more than 1.5 inches of precipitation.

The NWS in Riverton reports a 50% chance of scattered thunderstorms and rain throughout Thursday evening. That likelihood is expected to climb to 70% on Friday. Saturday will see a 90% chance of thunderstorms and rainfall throughout the day.
