CASPER, Wyo. — Casper residents are in store for clear skies this coming weekend, according to the National Weather Service in Riverton.

Today, temperatures are expected to reach a high of roughly 77 degrees. Light winds of 5–10 mph will likely roll in from the west throughout the day. At night, temperatures are expected to drop to a low of 48, with the skies remaining mostly cloudless.

Forecasts predict the sky will remain clear on Sunday as temperatures climb to 83 degrees.

However, the NWS in Riverton reports that Sunday’s winds will likely be at least twice as strong as the day prior’s: Gusts of more than 20 mph are possible throughout the day.

Sunday night will again see conditions drop into the high 40s.

The NWS in Riverton also reports that the first freeze of the year can be expected in the coming weeks. According to the department’s data, the first freeze in the Casper area is seen, on average, around Sept. 21. Last year, the first freeze was also seen around that time, officially listed as Sept. 25.
