CASPER, Wyo. — A sunny start to the day today will likely give way to rainfall that is expected to last into the start of the coming week, according to the National Weather Service in Riverton.

Today, residents are likely to see mostly sunny skies throughout the morning and early afternoon, with a high temperature near 79 degrees. However, the NWS in Riverton predicts that around 45 p.m., rainclouds will roll in, bringing with them scattered rain throughout the region.

Throughout the day, wind gusts of more than 30 mph are going to be possible.

The rain could continue into the night, as the NWS in Riverton expects the scattered showers and thunderstorms to persist until around midnight. Meanwhile, temperatures will drop to a low of around 46 degrees after sundown.

On Monday, the NWS in Riverton calls for a 50% chance of rain in the area between noon and 3 p.m. Monday’s temperatures are predicted to reach a high of 72 degrees.

The possibility of rain continues into Monday night and beyond that to Tuesday. when the likelihood grows to a 60% chance.
