Interstates 25 and 80 reopen in southeast Wyoming after wind closures Saturday

CASPER, Wyo. — After 65+ mph gusts in southeast Wyoming Saturday, closures to light, high-profile vehicles have lifted on major interstates.

Interstate 25 from Cheyenne to Wheatland opened shortly before 3:00 p.m. Saturday, the Wyoming Department of Transportation said. The closures due to extreme blowover risk on I-80 and WY 258 between Laramie and Walcott Junction lifted at 4:46 p.m.

The National Weather Service advises that light snow may pass through the area after midnight, potentially leading to brief periods of heavy blowing snow.
