CASPER, Wyo. — High winds have prompted the closure of Interstate 25 from Cheyenne to Wheatland to light, high-profile vehicles due to “extreme blowover risk.”
The Wyoming Department of Transportation issued the closure at 6:26 p.m. Monday.
I-80 and WY 258 between Laramie and Walcott Junction are also closed to light, high-profile vehicles as of 1:54 p.m.
The National Weather Service said that 60 mph gusts are likely along both interstate corridors through at least 8:00 a.m. Tuesday.
