(Wyoming Highway Patrol)

CASPER, Wyo. — A 38-year-old Wyoming resident died Wednesday in a single-vehicle rollover on Highway 287/26 near Dubois, according to a preliminary Wyoming Highway Patrol report.

The WHP says the wreck occurred around 5:23 p.m. on Sept. 14. The Chevrolet Tracker was headed eastbound on U.S. 26 near mile marker 32 when the driver failed to negotiate a left-hand curve.

The vehicle, towing a small flatbed trailer, exited the roadway to the right. The vehicle rolled several times, ejecting the driver, the report says.

A seatbelt was not in use, according to the report. Speed is being considered as a possible contributing factor.

The driver’s name is being withheld pending WHP confirmation.

There have been 86 deaths on Wyoming roadways this year compared to 84 to-date in 2021.
