A Casper Woman is facing trespassing and drug charges, after police say they found her in a foreclosed home.

According to Casper Police paperwork, 33-year-old Karen Marie Johnson was found at a home, where she had previously lived, on East 12th street, just before noon on Monday March 13th, 2017. The paperwork says that Johnson claimed that the bank who owned the foreclosed home had given her permission to be at the residence until later that afternoon, but was unable to provide officers with the name of the individual she had spoken to.

Investigation later found that Johnson was trespassed from the home. During that investigation however, police say they observed a loaded syringe inside the home, in plain sight. Johnson told officers that the syringe belonged to someone else, but failed to advise officers as to whom.

After Johnson was handcuffed and arrested, another individual, Darek Richards arrived at the home entering from the backdoor. Investigators found Richards to have a Failure To Appear warrant, and was subsequently arrested.

The substance in the syringe came up with a presumptive positive result for methamphetamine.

Johnson was arrested and booked into jail on one charge of Possession of a Controlled Substance- Methamphetamine and one charge of Criminal Trespass. Darek Richards was booked in under a single charge of Failure to Comply.

All charges are subject to change, and all suspects are considered innocent until otherwise found in a court of law.
