A Casper man was arrested and booked into jail on drug and Aggravated Assault charges, after reports that he had pulled the gun during a fight.
According to Casper Police Department arrest paperwork, Anthony James Kelley, also known as “AK,” was arrested in the early evening hours of Wednesday July 5th.
Officers say they originally reported to the area on a fight call, the caller telling 9-11 dispatchers that there was a white male threatening and harassing herself and three other men. The caller identified the man as “AK.”
Upon arrival, officers made contact with people involved in the incident, including Kelley. Kelley’s car matched the description of the car given to police by callers. Kelley denied going by the moniker of “AK,” and consented to a police search of his red Chevy Malibu.
Officers found a black Glock 43 pistol laying on the ground near the vehicle and a Rock Island 1911 pistol inside the car. Officers say they also found approximately 2.7 oz of marijuana in the car, in various packages.
Interviewing possible victims and witnesses on the scene, all seem to agree that Kelley had been party to an verbal argument where it was alleged that Kelley, who witnesses said went by “AK” had pulled a gun from his waistband. One witness quoting Kelley as saying “you don’t know who you are [expletive] dealing with.”
Kelley was arrested and booked into jail on recommended charges of Aggravated Assault and Possession of a Controlled Substance- Marijuana.
All of those cited or arrested are presumed innocent until convicted in a court of law. Charges are subject to change following official filings from the Natrona County District Attorney’s Office.
