A man calling dispatch to report drug use in his apartment complex, has led to the arrest of two Casper residents.

52-year-old Johnnie Wright and 42-year-old Silvia San Javier were both arrested in the late night hours of Wednesday July 5th. Police saying that they had received a tip about drug use happening in a CY Avenue apartment building. Police say that when they responded to the scene, the door to the apartment was already open slightly.

A Casper Police affidavit says that Wright had stood to open the door for officers, and thus police were able to see what they claim was San Javier attempting to conceal something. When confronted about the item, San Javier is reported to have told officers that it was a bong.

Police requested consent to search the apartment from Wright, which they received. During the search, officers say a plain-view look at San Javier’s purse showed 4 baggies with suspected methamphetamine residue in them, and a small plastic bag with suspected marijuana.

Elsewhere in the home, officers located a tin can, that Wright claimed ownership of. Officers say that the can contained a broken spoon, three needles in a plastic bag, two needles laying loose, and a small vial containing a trace amount of suspected marijuana.

Both Wright and San Javier were arrested and each was booked on recommended charges of Possession of Methamphetamine, and Possession of Marijuana.

All of those cited or arrested are presumed innocent until convicted in a court of law. Charges are subject to change following official filings from the Natrona County District Attorney’s Office.
