Casper Police responded with long range rifles and semi-automatic firearms when responding to a call on the 1600 block of South Jefferson in Casper, but the situation quickly de-escalated.
Sergent Scott Jones with the Casper Police Department was on scene just after 6:20 p.m. as emergency crews were departing the area. According to Jones, police recieved a call reporting a fight Thursday evening.
As officers responded to the area, information was given to dispatch regarding the possible presence of a gun on scene. Jones said that officers responded accordingly.

EMS and Fire crews reported to the scene, and police were observed patrolling the area carrying large firearms.
Jones said following an investigation that the situation was deemed to be non-life threatening, and no apparent firearm was in play.
The call originated as a fight between two individuals who lived in the area that had been in a physical fight.
One suspect fled the scene and was not immediately apprehended. Jones said he was confident that the Casper Police Department would be vigilant in attempting to find the suspect, but that the suspect would likely only face a recommended misdemeanor charge.
