Upon arrival, officers located a green Ford pickup truck in the parking lot of an apartment complex in the area. The truck had a male driver and a female passenger.
Police made contact with the individuals, later identifying the driver as Hitt.
Police say that upon initial contact, the observed a suspected marijuana pipe on the center console, in plain view.
During questioning Hitt indicated that he was in town for work, from his home in Texas. He told officers that he was trying to engage in a sexual rendezvous with his finale passenger, and that she had brought the marijuana and marijuana pipes.
During the interview, police quote Hitt as saying “I know I’m going to jail” and “because of what’s in the truck.”
Hitt was taken into custody and the vehicle was searched. An affidavit in the case says that officers found two glass pipes with suspected methamphetamine residue and a clear plastic bag containing suspected marijuana.
Police also describe finding a prescription medication bottle with a name on it that did not match either of the people in the truck. The poll bottle was said to have contained two Tramadol pills.
Tramadol is a schedule-4 controlled substance.
Hitt said that the prescription belonged to a member of his family, and had been sent to him, because he was out of medication for himself.
Hitt then later said that marijuana found in the vehicle was brought by him, and that his passenger was going to smoke with him. But that there was no exchange of drugs for romantic activities.
Later, subsequent to his arrest, Hitt informed officers that he had hidden a bag of methamphetamine on his person, which was recovered by law enforcement after the disclosure.
Hitt was booked into the Natrona County Detention Center for recommended charges of Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of Marijuana, and Possession of Tramadol.
A booking photo for Hitt was not provided by the Casper Police Department.
