Suspect arrested in Cheyenne homicide

Cheyenne police say that they’ve arrested a suspect in connection with a homicide that the department has been investigating since Wednesday.

According to a statement released by the Cheyenne Police Department, the investigation is ongoing. Officers responded to the 3300 block of Belaire Avenue, in the capital city, at approximately 3:45 pm, December 5.

Responding officers report finding a dead male at the scene. The Cheyenne Police say they are currently withholding the name of the deceased male, pending family notification.

Charles Richmond, 78, of Cheyenne, was arrested by officers at the scene and is suspected of shooting the victim during an altercation between the two.

Cheyenne Police officers and detectives interviewed multiple people who were in the residence at the time of the incident but are asking anyone with additional information to contact investigators at 307-633-6617.
