The report says the woman put up her hands to defender herself and was repeatedly punched in her hands. He continued to hit her repeatedly on her body as she attempted to fight back.

She said he choked her in the back bedroom of the house, and told officers he would “push her up against a wall and pinch her throat and make it difficult to breath, and on numerous occasions lose consciousness.”

Officers noted many bruises about her body and face, with bruises on her neck consistent with choking, and “a raised bump on the center of her forehead.”

They noted specific bruises on her chin and right jaw line and above her right eye. Her hands were “swollen to the point where they looked to be like balloons,” said the report. Her voice was “raspy” and said it was hard to swallow.

She told police she was afraid to report the abuse because she feared Lovelady would “kill her.” Her children were not in the home at the time of the attack, according to the report.

Police have charged Lovelady with strangulation of a household member (felony), and domestic battery.
